ヒーロという言葉は、USではあまり使わなかったと思う。

代わりに、モリネテという言葉が使われた。

 

御殿場の練習会で使っている、ヒーロはモリネテのことだ。

モリネテとは風車。男性（リーダ）を中心に女性（フォロワ）がグレープバインをしながら回転すること。

この中の要素として、前オチョと後ろオチョが含まれる。ひまわりをイメージすると良いのかもしれない。

 

 

USにいたときは、モリネテのが多かった。

Regarding  the molinete/giro distinction, here are some various definitions coming from multiple sites. After a bit of surveying, I can see why there is some disagreement regarding this terminology. Interesting note: one Argentine Tango site didn’t even define a giro as a tango term!

Molinete (windmill) :

1. Molinete is an Argentine Tango move, where the follower turns around the leader, like a windmill. The term molinete is Spanish for windmill. Other words for molinete are giro and lady’s turn.

2. Molinete is a figure in which the lady dances a grapevine on a circumference around the man, stepping side-back-side-forward using forward and back ocho technique and footwork, as the man pivots at the center of the figure.

3. Molinete is a figure in which the lady dances a grapevine around the man in side-back-side-forward the man pivots at the center of the circle.

Giro (turn) :

1. A turning step or figure.

2. giro, molinete, grapevine, turn: a series of turning steps that follow the pattern of a forward step, side, back, side, forward, side, back, side, forward…
